Last year, BST HYDE PARK managed to get STRAY KIDS to their biggest stage. This year, they acquired two other huge names from the Kpop industry: ATEEZ and TAEMIN. Let's dive into what this festival has to offer!
This year, a heatwave hit Europe unlike any other. London, too, is a part of it. To tackle the heat, BST Hyde Park offers various places with free drinking water and there are many spots in the shade. All in all it wasn't too bad; especially the wind really helped to keep the temperature bearable.
The stage where our favorite artists will perform is fit for such big names. The stage is so high up that everyone in the crowd has a good view. The Grand Oak Stage is fittingly decorated with a huge oak tree.
TAEMIN
At 15:30, it was TAEMIN's turn to take the stage. He hyped the crowd with a intro video in black and white before entering the stage himself, dressed in a black suit, without t-shirt on, which immediately encouraged the fans to cheer loudly.
The show started with his latest MV hit Sexy In The Air, then came WANT. The 'hot hot hot' part really fit the weather! Very soon the last of his jacket unbuttoned for the song Permission, a new song which is only released to Spotify a month ago with the same funky vibe we got to know and love from TAEMIN.
After saying hi and greeting the audience, TAEMIN performed four hit songs that every Kpop fan would know: Criminal, Move, Guilty and Advice. Naturally, the crowd went crazy, and both him and his dancers set an amazing performance.
TAEMIN put up some sunglasses right before performing a new, unreleased song 'Let Me Be The One'. True fans might already know the song from his Coachella setlist, but to help they played a lyric video on the screen. He takes a photo with the fans, celebrating his return to London.
The show finishes with a ballad. Accompanied by a gorgeous galaxy backdrop, TAEMIN performs another new song 'Stuck In A Memory.' We sure hope both will be included in his new album, which he is busy with preparing!
The show ran without any break, and time seems to fly. After 40 mins it's over and time to say goodbye. Fans cheered loudly for the artist and his dancers, and even though it's sad to see him leave - the day isn't over yet. Time for a break, and then...
ATEEZ

Huge thanks to BST Hyde Park for allowing us to photograph ATEEZ! The show started as scheduled at 21:30, accompanied with a live band which makes the show even more impactful. One by one they appear on stage, wearing all-white outfits, and the fans cheers are deafening our ears. The show already sets the energy bar so high as they start with ‘Bouncy’. Next is the classic ‘Say My Name’, and then to our shock the guys move to the extended stage for ‘Work’, which made it possible to get some beautiful close-ups!
As fans are used to and expecting from ATEEZ, the energy is so high, from both the artist and their fans. After a short ment saying how happy they are to be back in London and asking how excited fans are, ‘Shaboom’ starts playing of their latest album Golden Hour : Part 5. Then ‘Lemon Drop’ is performed on the extended stage again; they really want to be as close as possible to their fans! For ‘Arriba’ there’s an outfit change, and especially Mingi is taking the spotlight with sunglasses and a great hat.
Another short ment, where they compliment the many different kinds of fans that are present today, and how happy they are to be performing on such a stage where so many legends have performed. ATEEZ is ready to shoot for the stars with their next song ‘NASA’. The song has gained global attention due to the fact that NASA itself used the song’s lyrics on their social media, which is an amazing accomplishment of course. People kept jumping to the song and we can’t emphasize enough how great the energy was.

The backdrop changes into a gorgeous scenery for ‘Ice On My Teeth’, and everybody is singing along. Then it’s time for a song which dropped literally days before the show: ‘Bad’, the latest title track of Golden Hour : Part 5. No breaks: You can see it’s a festival and not a tour, with no VCR’s and less breaks, because soon after we move into ‘Blind’, where dancers with red clothes are giving the choreography an extra dimension. During a next ment, Hongjoong and San hype up the crowd further, while Seonghwa fixed a tech error. Summer hit ‘Wave’ hits next, a classic the whole crowd knows from starts to finish. ATEEZ is on the extended stage again, taking every chance to interact with the fans and just spend a great time together. For ‘Choose’, the stage elevates even higher, and each member has their own microphone for the emotional song. The next song is also a bit slower, ‘Now this house ain’t a home’, and then ‘Enough’ - but we just can’t get enough of the show!
After the calmer songs, the show is slowly coming to an end, but not after an unforgettable ending: ‘Adrenaline’ plays, and it’s one of the craziest choreos to exist, truly in an ATEEZ style, and they give their all! Then ‘Fireworks (I’m The One)’, where members can splash water to the fans, and is accompanied by a fire backdrop and pyrotechnics truly in theme. Then ‘Guerilla’, where fans loudly scream along to the Break The Wall part.
And that’s the end…. Or so we thought. The members leave the stage, but of course there is still an encore. “You thought it was over? Think again!” Hongjoong’s voice sounds, and then a rock version of ‘The Real’ starts playing to really end the show. ATEEZ played from 20:30 until 21:50, pushing a full concert setlist into the 1:20h show. We greatly applaud them for their amazing performances and we can’t wait to see them in the future again!
