[EXCLUSIVE] Interview with JASP.ER
"Like Paris Without the Eiffel Tower": JASP.ER on Chemistry, Growth, and Connecting with Global Fans
Taking the headlining slot at The A Festival on October 25th, Thai group JASP.ER proved exactly why their global rise has been impossible to ignore. Facing a crowd brimming with anticipation, the members commanded the stage with high-intensity choreography, pristine vocals, effortless humor, and a magnetic, subtle edge. Just before their high-energy set, we spent some quiet time backstage with the group for a close-up Q&A.

For the group, consisting of Pond, Santa, Aou, and Joong, their appearance at A Festival in France marked an important milestone: their first performance together in Europe. The four members shared their excitement about meeting their European fans, reflected on their journey as a group, and spoke about the dedication that goes into their performances.
Performing in France carried a special weight for Pond, who was eager to translate months of online fan enthusiasm into a live, shared experience. For both Pond and Santa, the standout moment of the set was undoubtedly Wish, a track whose online dance challenge had already taken off, making its live rendition a long-awaited highlight. Beyond the stage, Santa noted how the intense rehearsal schedule for the festival had deepened the group's bond, bringing the members closer than ever. Rounding out the milestone occasion, Aou emphasized that as their final overseas performance of the year, the festival served as the ultimate proving ground as they prepare for their upcoming headlining concert.
Although the four members have different personalities and backgrounds, they emphasized that their shared ambitions are what bring them together. Pond explained that despite their differences, they all have the same goal: to continuously improve and give their best to the fans who support them. Santa agreed, highlighting their mutual passion for dancing and performing as a boy group, which allows them to motivate and inspire one another. Their individual journeys also played an important role in shaping JASP.ER. As Aou described, some members had previously trained as aspiring idols, while others gained experience through dance covers. Eventually, these different paths came together to form the group. Joong added that they discovered how similar their musical tastes were while selecting songs for their concerts, making the creative process surprisingly natural.
The group's dedication becomes particularly evident when discussing their rehearsals.
Reflecting on the meaning of perseverance, Santa revealed that their individual schedules can sometimes stretch from seven in the morning until ten at night.

Nevertheless, the members still find time to practice together, occasionally rehearsing until midnight or even one in the morning. Rather than viewing this exhausting routine negatively, he described the happiness and satisfaction they find in working hard toward their shared dream. For Pond, being part of JASP.ER also represents the realization of an ambition he once believed might never come true. After experiencing unsuccessful auditions and following separate career paths, coming together as a group has given the members another opportunity to express themselves artistically. This sense of artistic freedom also shapes their stage identity. Aou explained that performing as JASP.ER allows the members to reveal a more confident and sensual side of themselves, contrasting with their often calmer personalities offstage. Joong similarly described the group as an opportunity to express their emotions and bring a different kind of energy to the stage.
Seamlessly navigating acting, studio recording, and live shows, the members see no distinction between their varied creative outlets. Pond noted that any environment can feel like home when approached with the right mindset, a sentiment Santa backed by emphasizing how every facet of their work drives their overall growth. For Joong and Aou, home remains a matter of community over venue: Aou emphasized that it is their surrounding team, friends, and dedicated fans who provide a sense of place and belonging, regardless of where the stage is set.
The interview concluded with heartfelt messages to their European fans. Pond admitted that he had never imagined receiving so much support from people living so far away. What had previously seemed distant and existed mainly through social media had now become something he could experience firsthand. Santa acknowledged the challenges of supporting artists across different continents, languages, and time zones, expressing his gratitude to fans who continue to show their love both online and in person. Aou echoed this appreciation, describing the fans' support as something that feels like family and expressing his hope to spend more time with them during a future visit. Joong ended the interview with a humorous but affectionate comparison that perfectly captured the group's appreciation for their supporters: "Without you guys [fans], we are like Paris without the Eiffel Tower."
More than just another stop on a global tour itinerary, JASP.ER's first performance on European soil marked a pivotal chapter in their story. Beyond the applause, the trip cemented their brotherhood, fueled their drive for what lies ahead, and bridged the distance between four artists and the global fandom that believes in them.
