[Concert Recap] ONE OK ROCK DETOX TOUR Madrid

Last October 6th, Madrid was the city in which ONE OK ROCK kicked off their Detox European tour along with Paledusk as opening act. Palacio Vistalegre was the lucky arena that welcomed the bands and fans on this unforgettable experience, in which every second was extraordinary.

The night started off with an amazing organization by the venue. Both the staff and security made sure to inform everyone of how and where they should proceed depending on their ticket tier, even hours before opening doors. Fans also made sure to help each other, which made entering the venue easy and a great experience. That job was hard enough, considering it was a sold out concert! Once inside, the crowd filled every space with energy and willingness to have fun - some stopping by the merch booth first.

Little by little, every space and seat of the arena got filled. Those standing were dancing and singing along to the music the venue played before the opening act, and didn't stop ever since.

Paledusk set up a breathtaking performance with a cover of Lose Yourself before letting attendees enjoy their amazing songs live. KAITO vocals were astonishing, and so were DAIDAI and Tsubasa on the guitars and BOB playing the drums. From AREA PD to HUGs, each song was enjoyed for those who were already fans and attendants that listened to them for the first time.

Spanish fans didn't disappoint when delivering energy to those on stage: even when one of the staff came out to check the microphone was working correctly, everyone cheered for him every time, and some even turned on their flashlights to let him receive their support.

And that didn't stop at all - the energy only went up! Once ONE OK ROCK started their performance, the crowd went crazy and sang along to every bit of the night. Taka, as always, with his voice from out of this world and his never-ending stamina, jumped from side to side of the stage even when he was still recovering from his feet injury.

The band (after having a disappointing experience at the airport) was clearly cheered up by their fans. Puppets can't control you was only The Beginning (pun intended), since they drove their fans through a lot of emotions thanks to their wide ranging discography. They even had a collaboration stage with Paledusk for C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y, in which Toru was able to deliver his incredible rap skills since he could rest his guitar for a bit. Ryota also was astounding with every beat of his bass.

The four of them interacted with the crowd. Tomoya even learned some Spanish, and not only that, but even a famous meme in the country (we hope you enjoyed your café con leche!). Taka got emotional with all the support that was given to them, and he made sure to let fans know of his gratitude and love in every intermission.

As a gift to their fans, they sang a short acoustic version of Wherever you are before leaving the stage. Fans didn't want to exit, either - since they put their heart out in every second of the night.

As every time one has the lucky opportunity to attend their concerts, ONE OK ROCK and Paledusk left everyone in awe in a night with no regrets. A experience that one has to live at least once - and hopefully, you can enjoy it next time too!
